Remember that old saying? I can't begin to recall how many times I've heard that one before. Then we get older and realize it is perfectly OKAY to speak up. Do we have to do it in a belligerent way? of course not. However, speaking up against racism is something we all should be doing. Ever watch one of those racist videos on Instagram, Facebook, etc., and wonder who was around when a person of color was being attacked & harassed by a privileged Caucasian person? Does it get your blood boiling when you're helplessly watching what has taken place and everyone is staring but not speaking! Racism is ugly and it is not nice but you know what makes it worse? BEING SILENT. Speak up and encourage others to do the same when you see a "Karen", or "Ken" and whatever other nickname is being used when a Caucasian person is telling someone to "Speak English", "Go Back to Your Country", "Why Are you Here?", and horrifically using the N-Word.
We hear the Silence. We See the Silence.
